Cricket-Yousuf pushes for Pakistan return after quitting ICL

. Saturday, May 2, 2009

KARACHI, May 2 (Reuters) - Former Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf said on Saturday he had broken his ties with the unofficial Indian Cricket League (ICL) and was available to play for his country again.

"I have always said I am keen to play for my country if I am given the chance," Yousuf told Reuters. "I have now resigned from the ICL and can play for Pakistan."

Yousuf was not included in Pakistan's preliminary squad for the Twenty20 World Cup announced last month but he has not yet given up hope of playing in the competition.

"I am now available even for the Twenty20 World Cup in June," he said.

The Pakistan Cricket Board announced this week that if players with contracts with the ICL resigned they could be considered for national selection.link...
